Cervical cancer is the largest burden of gynaecological cancers in India. They r diagnosed late because they cause no major disturbance to any female. Main indicators of pre-cancerous or cancer are: 1) long standing white discharge 2) bleeding between periods 3) bleeding after intercourse 4) control over urine becomes less This cancer takes a long time for development. It starts as an ulcer on the cervix and slowly increases to become a presentation cancer condition before becoming cancer . This takes anything from a few months to few years. At this time it can be detected by regular PAP SMEAR . Then treatment is also small surgery with an instrument called COLPOSCOPE. If this is missed then treatment for early cancer can be done with good surgery
